- What kind of medicine is it?
The medicine contains two strains of bifidobacteria (B. longum and B. bifidum) which mainly work in the large intestine, and L. acidophilus (new classification name: L. gasseri) which works mainly in the small intestine. Together, these beneficial bacterial exert an effect in the entire intestinal tract. Recommended for persons with constipation, loose stools, or bloating of the abdomen.

- Why is this medication effective for both constipation and loose stools?
When “bad” bacteria such as Clostridium welchii, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus proliferate in intestines, and “good” bacteria such as bifidobacteria and lactobacilli decrease, problems of bowel movement arise. These may be constipation or loose stools. “Wakamoto Intestinal Remedy” replenishes the depleted “good” bacteria. This exerts a beneficial effect on both constipation and loose stools.
